The following updated rules for returning to the Czech Republic from abroad apply with affect from April 5, 2021 for Czech citizens, family members of Czech citizens or EU citizens residing in the Czech Republic, foreigners with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic and EU citizens with a certificate of temporary residence in the Czech Republic:

A) Countries with a low risk of infection – Green colour: Travel is permitted without any restrictions

For all of the following colours it is necessary to fill out the Public Health Passenger Locator Form: https://plf.uzis.cz/

B) Countries with a medium risk of infection – Orange colour:

  • When returning to the Czech Republic by public transport it is necessary to undergo an antigen test within 24 hours before the trip or a PCR test 72 hours before returning.
  • When returning by individual transport it is only necessary to undergo an antigen or PCR test within 5 days of arrival in the Czech Republic.

C) Countries with a high risk of infection – Red colour:

  • When returning to the Czech Republic by public transport it is necessary to undergo an antigen test within 24 hours before the trip or a  PCR test 72 hours before returning.
  • When returning by individual transport no prior testing is required.

It is necessary to undergo a PCR test within 5 days of arrival in the Czech Republic. Quarantine is mandatory until receiving the negative result.

D) Countries with a very high risk of infection – Dark red colour:

  • Travel is allowed only after undergoing an antigen test within 24 hours before the trip or a PCR test 72 hours before returning.
  • Upon arrival, a mandatory quarantine applies until completing another PCR test on day 5 at the earliest and day 14 the latest.

For the orange, red and dark red countries the obligation to wear a respirator of at least FFP2 level for 10 days from arrival also applies.
